Our Holiday Open House is coming up in just 2 weeks and you need to be sure not to miss it! We have been busy stocking the shelves and decking the halls to prepare for the upcoming holidays. Our Susan Goodwin Trunk Show will also be happening on Saturday, November 23rd from noon-5pm. This is an annual customer favorite! Susan is a local artist who has been designing jewelry for more than 25 years and she is internationally known for her gemstone and pearl jewelry designs. {Re}Fresh the Nest

Fall is here & Summer too!!!  I love this time of year.....nearly 80 degrees, sunny, with an evening coolness.  Thoughts are beginning to turn inside as I savor every last second of the light and warmth. Those thoughts include refreshing the candle collection, changing out pillows and summer accessories, choosing a home project for fall and getting some dates on the calendar for fall entertaining.  So much to do, I must get started.

We have the candles, that is for sure. And you are buying them....GREAT! Now what. The first time you burn that new candle, make sure you have plenty of time to train your candle. If the wick is really long, trim it and then light and let burn for a couple of hours or until the wax is pooled all the way out to the edge. Otherwise, the next time you burn it, the flame will just burn the size of the first burn following the wick down the middle...wasting all the outer wax. Also, keep the wick trimmed to a quarter inch to keep it from smoking. Our tapers are dripless, but any candle will drip in a draft. Keep your candles out of the way of heating vents or the door. And of course, never leave a candle burning unattended! A burning candle is a warm touch. Enjoy. Tomorrow...getting wax out of your table cloth.
